Mullerslane Farm – Animals and Buildings Part 1 of 3
Sunday was a very relaxing day at the Mullerslane farm even though the wind started out like a lamb and went out like a lion. When you visit a farm take a look at the layout of the buildings and see how they fit together into a cohesive theme. The farm may be set back from the homestead or house in order to get the tractor out of the barn. Depending on how large a tractor, the barn may be set farther or closer to the house.
Most barns have more than one entrance to them. This is for easy movement of the tractor and its implements or allowing the animals to easily go out into the enclosed pasture on the side of the barn. Another side of the barn may open to another gated community of say hogs or sheep. This allows for easy feeding and allowing them access to the barn in inclement weather. Of course, they may have their own hog or sheep protection structures, as not everything is made to fit into the barn.
